in an effort to make this sim more realistic, will the game actually require operators of the 787 to ground their aircraft as the FAA did this week?
Nope, not intended at the moment (and technically also not that easy)
While technically difficult and not so funny for operators of the plane, it would be a real nice feature of the game 
Then add exploding engines to A 380 and landing gear issues with Dash 8 Q-400, too
Awsome, since the Q400 and the 787 are among the most popular planes at AS, i guess a lot of airlines would go belly up… less awsome although it would make it a lot more realistic, i think a lot of people would be pissed hehe.

AS could make 787 popularity with passengers -5 while the 787s in real-life are grounded, that wouldn’t be that hard to do.
I figure it’s kinda hard to code while the mob is chasing you down the road.

Haha do it! Just make sure if it ever happens for Dash 8’s or 737’s we dont put that in the game, because then that will actually affect me
How about the old MD-11? Or should I call it a “Scud” as it’s affectionately called by some.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe it was nick-named so by an American Airlines pilot, as they went up, but no-one knew where they’d come down :-/
