I’m currently running a cargo airline and wondered what the effects of buying a 40 year old plane would be.

Does it reduce the amount cargo transport bookings?

Will it have much of an effect on cargo or would be greater effect on PAX?

It does make a difference. A high ORS definitely makes things better. The biggest issue with the older aircraft is the higher MX cost and fuel burn. Sometimes you don’t come out ahead over just paying the lease fees. However with the higher ORS it can help with leasing.
