IIRC, this question was asked a few weeks ago but I can“t find die answer at the moment. The introduction of a new type also means that the performance data of this new type are known and verified. I am not sure that relevant data about the new version of the Q400 are available yet?
Another major problem will be (IMO) that the main characteristic of the new Q400-variant could be "worthless" because AS-passengers even complain about the 78-seat Q400.
I fear that the 86-seat version will be a major disadvantage due to devastating acceptance by passengers on AS. The main reason for an increase of the capacity seems to be the aim to reduce operating costs per passenger on short flights to levels equal to numbers of the ATR72-600. In AS, profitability is defined in a different way. A 60-seat Q400 makes money and proves to be popular while a 86-seat Q400 will result in angry passengers. My opinion s not a direct complaint but only my thoughts about it.
We already have a report about that aircraft type and we are in data research process. I can not promise any release for that, but we do have it on our list ;)
