There are many places that are building, plan to build Runways, or have the space to build a new runway. If we could provide examples through cited sources how an airport is building a run-way or has the space to build a run-way, it would be great if we could put down a large amount (hey a cool couple hundred million sounds good) to expand our airport that we have made into a fortress hub that would be great.
I know some airports' citizens (like LHR) would rather have hell freeze over than build a new runway and some airports have no space (LCY), so its a long-shot of a request but those airports with space and in dictatoriships would be fair game, IMO.
would take away from the relaity a little. As much as KUL could use a new runway, I like the fact the game is close to real world. Now if in the real world airports added another runway, I wouldnt mind the developers adding more. Its a good idea, but if you want to add more slots, might as well remove slots all together.

How many airlines have prevented a runway from being built. Allegedly, at least 1 - United Airlines (the pre-merger one) at ORD.
Also, as far as I can tell Emirates is “building” Dubai World but UAE is just assembling it in the same way that Boeing is “building” the 777X for Emirates.
My final point is that I do not run an airline in the real world, but if I did run one identically to my existing one and had some cash behind me…I would build another runway at DME (in exchange for only me using it)! I believe that this game illustrates which countries are inferior in managing their geographic positions (Russia, India, and Panama) to the ME3 which is why certain airports are overcrowded in the game but ot in real life.

There are many restrictions on real airlines, including financial (it seems to be a very expensive business with narrow margins). I can't imagine any airline spending any of its own money on such a large capital project.
