cargo capacity changes with direction?

I have a round trip cargo flight I’m starting from anc-dub. Going there it carries 580ish cargo and returning it’s 630 cargo units. This is an a330 so why the differences? Something to do with runways maybe?

I just checked an there shouldn’t be any issues landing on 8,000ft. Taking off would be the problem at max gross but never landing.

Usually when I see differences in cargo capacity, it has something to do with the distance of the flight, comapred to the range of the airplane...

I am currently operating more than 200 A330 and haven't seen that issue. Sorry, no clue.

Runways would be the easiest explanation, but is for ANC and DXB as you are saying not relevant.

Just did a quick check .... there are 2 types of A330 Freighter .... one is called Payload and one is called Range ... and if I read correctly you want to fly from ANC (Anchorage) to DUB wich is Dublin and not Dubai. According to the Performance tool you can carry 100% Load on the Range Version but only 82,5% of the Load on the Payload version ... so I guess you have the Payload version and thats why the Weight is reduced.

Should be still the same for both directions. Only if he is using the R in one and the P in the other direction.

Ok ... my fault ... I was not assuming, that one might use DUB as a cargo hub and implicitly was thinking of DXB. ^^

So there we are ... the difference is caused by the runways. DUB's runway is slightly to short for starts and way to short for landing with full capacity on that range. Check the performance tool.
