Cargo RoadFeederService

Hello AirlineSIM Forum.

Thanks for a great game - many hours spent on playing it so far and many more to come.

Here is an idea for the game...

In real life I work as a Cargo Planner for an Airline - we often use RFS - RoadFeederService for Aircargo to and from airports which does not have their own Cargo Airplanes or for transfers between 2 airports which is too close to eachother to use a Plane for transitting the cargo.

My idea is you should add RFS into this game for cargo operations.

It should be simple to add:

1. Add a RFS into the list of Planes to buy new or used

2. Set the speed of the RFS to 90km/h which is the speed a truck is limited to

3. Set RFS cargo capacity to 12.000kg.

4. Set RFS range to max say 500km to keep focus on the planes and only use the RFS to "link" airports nearby to the Cargoplane departure.

This would be awesome to have in the game for a Cargo-Nerd like me - hopefully others will like the idea too.

Thanks !

You have local networks alreday enabled in AS

Hi,

Oh, sorry didn't know about that - then the idea is already implemented - making the game even greater ! :)

Thanks !

Do you by any chance know how the ground network works ?

Do I need to have a station at both airports I want to connect via ground network ?

Also, do I need to set-up a route to use the ground networks attached to the airport ?

Help is much appreciated, thank you ! :)

the ground network is enabled by default (on Devau, it is deactivated) and can not be influenced. It is simply an additional connection that is available to everyone by default, no need to do anything. however, you can not make money out of it. think of it as local public transportation for pax or independent road based or rail based cargo companies for freight.
