In my oppinion Charter is a great way to make this game even more interessting. But i am sure its gonna be difficult to create a logic behind it that creates Charter Flights that Companys can do. Than they have to calculate there Price for the Flight and the Cheapest Company with the highest Rating gets the Contract.
If you create a Mask to enter Data for this Charter Flights i will start to collect Data and enter it into this thing. After a few Weeks i should have a good Database wich we can Test. The Problem is i have some Ideas but i m not a Programmer my best Project untill now was a C++ Programm that was Calculating how many Liters of Fuel you are using per 100 km´s.
To prevent you from an expensive pre-release party - at the moment we are not adding the charter market at all and if we do, it won’t be anything which has to be filled and maintained on a single flight base manually. By the way - how do you want to collect the data as I#m not sure if we’re speaking about the same thing. We mean ad-hoc or full-charter - no scheduled charter which you may mean.
Sorry for picking up this year old topic, but better I add my thoughts here instead of starting a new topic talking about the same thing.
I agree with the summary from gn1987839... something like that would be really nice.
There could be 2 types of charter flights:
1. A fixed route with certain conditions (min. seats or cargo availability per flight) for a fixed period of time.
2. A single flight from A to B with certain conditions (min. seats or cargo availability)
Both would have to make more money than regular schedule flights, with 2 being more expensive/profitable than 1, so it makes sense to fly an airplane to another airport, pickup the passengers/cargo, and deliver everything to the destination airport.
I guess this would also require some sort of parking fee for charter jets, as they would be sitting on the tarmac for quite some time.
For the charter segment need to create a generator passengers. In this role could be the tour operator on the market. (As proposed aircraft leasing operator)
All proposals published in a separate interface.
All that is needed - to create approximately 1500-2000 resorts routes and 250-300 major tour operators + special interface
For example
Operator: “X-tour”
Route: Riga-Tunis
Max passengers per flight: 180
Freq. flights: 2 per week
Days: wed, sat
Contract period: 01apr-30oct
Number of flights: 56
Max price for 1 flight cycle: 57 000 AS$
Total value of the contract: 3 192 000 AS$
preliminary payment: 228 000 AS
The frequency of payments: 1 time per week
(Tour operators usually prepay 4 flights)
Additional rule:
The termination of the contract, if the initiator airlines:
- refund all prepayments of the future flights
- penalty of 50% of the cost of 4 next flight
No need to publish charter flights to ORS.
Charter flights have to be marked in the route menu.
I guess this would also require some sort of parking fee for charter jets, as they would be sitting on the tarmac for quite some time.
Maybe this could be realized with additional terminals that players can build. You could offer a new service at your airport, renting out space for charter planes. To make it interesting, maybe the maintenance is handled faster if you rent, or something like this.
