Don't get loan..

From reading the wiki the loans offered under the loan screen are supposed to be without security, or based on a calculation that assumes you can pay i.e. making a regular profit. The loans with security are those you get when you “loan purchase” an aircraft. Therefore if we’re profitable we should be able to take loans relating to our profit irregardless of our fixed assets.

The Team just Implement it so it will for sure not be changed. Thanks to all the guys who cheated in the past. If you buy a car and take up a loan to get the car you can not use your car as a security to get a new loan. No Bank will accept it!!

So you have to buy an aircraft or build Terminals wich then can be used as Security for a loan. Apparently it looks like you will need 10mio Security to get a loan worth 200 -300000. These figures somebody posted on another Thread. I have not tried so far to get a loan so not 100% sure if these numbers are correct or not.

Yes but today we live in a world of credit, good and bad, so I should be able to get a loan without security if I’m a "safe" investment. This could be judged in several ways, reliable repayment of loans taken out, good profit margins, or high income. Further it should be ridiculously easy for us to "loan purchase" an aircraft as ultimately should I be unable to pay the loan the aircraft is returned to the bank and sold again or leased out.

This is the reason why we have the world economic Crises, this thinking was the Reason why In the US and Spain the Housing market Collapsed. And here in this Game the Banks are Considering you as NOT a safe Investment. Now it takes longer for everybody to grow in the game. On the long run I think it is good. And it keeps the game Interesting for a long time. But I am not Part of the Team … This is my Personal opinion. If the Team will change it it will be then their call …

Well this begs the question of what is a good investment then? If the banks aren’t willing to lend to enterprises then you actually make the situation worse which is why large economic stimulus packages are required to promote investment. Surely long established enterprises with regular, million AS$ revenue are strong candidates for large loans, which is why I’d like to know what the criteria are for gaining support from the banks.

If you have (as I told you before) 10 million worth of securities wether Aircrafts and/or Terminals you will get a loan from the Bank. The more Securities you have the bigger the loan you will get. And with all due respect. We had Banks that were gready by giving loans to people that had no or little securities for big loans for houses, cars, credit cards etc. By doing so they created a big bubble that bursts. So because the banks that should have or Lenders like Fredymac etc were not able to survive and so the government with the money from you and me had to buy stakes to protect these companies from Bancruptcy. And now they impose rules to prevent this in the future. And because of the unbalance the banks are not lending money to each other and that is why we need these enormous stimulus packages. And now it is like in real life very very tough to get loans even to very profitable middleclass enterprises. Thats a fact! so don’t use parts of something that was the result of something else since it is simply not the truth. So just buy aircrafts and/or terminals and then you will get loans. The more you have as securities the higher the loan you will get.

According to the wiki:

In Airlinesim loans are managed and payed out by the AS-Bank. The creditworthness and therefore maximal sum of loans you’re offered and the corresponding interest are affected by different factors:

Rating of your enterprise

Amount of equity

Amount of already signed loans

Amount of profit

In intervals of seven days after signing the loan contract the loan and interest has to be payed in rates. You can opt to dissolve the loan contract at any time - if the balance of your bank account allows to immediately settle the loan plus an additional fee.

In Airlinesim we do decide between loans with or without securities.

Loans without securities

Loans without securites allow you to raise your liquidity. If you sign a loan contract on the menu ‘Finance/Loans’ this equals to a loan without securites. Your loan isn’t bound to any invests you plan, but the interested is a bit higher compared to a loan with securites. The specific interest for a loan without securites depends on the current prime rate, but can be higher depending on your creditworthness.

Loans with securities

Loans with securities are always bound to a specific invest and won’t raise the liquidity of your enterprise, therefore this is somewhat equals to a financed purchase. The specific object you invested in is used to safeguard your loan. In case of illiquiditiy it is passed into the AS-Banks ownership. Given that the AS-Bank is willing to offer higher loans and subordinate interests compared to a loan without securites. Also in that case the specific interest for a loan without securites depends on the current prime rate, but can be higher depending on your creditworthness.

Loans with securities in Airlinesim are only offered when buying a new aircraft.

Unfortunately and this has been noted many times the Wiki is not up to date … so after the new rules which are explained in the development board the wiki has not been updated so far. Just take a look and search the forums for Loans and you will find a lot of links there. Just read them and you should find some more answers

Hi,

the economic model of the game is not realistic…

Most real airlines would be excited if they made a profit of 10% per year. My established airlines make a profit of 30%… per week. My youngest airline on Pearls even made a weekly profit of 58%.

When I "lease" a new 73G, I put 2.3 million on the table and the bank gives me the other 43 million. Every leasing contract is actually a buy-and-lease contract where the bank finances 95% of the plane. And there is no penalty if you change your mind and return the plane after a few weeks. I doubt you would be able to launch an airline in the real world with a capital of 10 million and find a bank who will finance 190 million.

Wit the old system, you could start a new airline by buying 4 old 737-200 aircraft. That immediately allowed you to obtain a loan to buy 2 more old 737’s. And that immediately allowed you to get a loan to buy one more 73S. Benjamin is right. No real bank will ever give you a loan that is covered by a plane… that is also paid with borrowed money.

If you want a realistic economic model, demand from AS that your airline should be able to double it’s value after 5 years, instead of 5 weeks ;)

I believe Benjamin is right when he thinks AS wants to slow down the game a bit. Both the new IPO rules and the new bank loan rules slow down the growth rate of airlines on a new server. It will/should extend the (profitable) lifetime of a server. But that’s okay… the equity of my new airline went from 10 million to 15 million in just two weeks. Isn’t that fast enough ?
