Flight Scheduling

What is a better system to use for flight schedules?

Having a plane alternate destinations on a 3 day cycle with 4 round-trip flights to each place?

EX: 1

CLE-MDW Mon

CLE-MKE Tue

CLE-STL Wed

CLE-MDW Thu

CLE-MKE Fri

CLE-STL Sat

Mixed schedule Sun

Or is it better to have a plane make 4 different round trip flights each day to 4 different destinations and repeat that schedule throughout the week?

EX: 2

CLE-MDW early am

CLE-MKE late morning

CLE-STL afternoon

CLE-IND evening

Repeat all 7 days

Which system is better for scheduling flights?

Or is a 3rd option preferable where I fly a schedule like Ex 2 except alternate different cities and hit each route only once every 3 days.

I’d use example 2 aswell, it’s more slot friendly

I took advice and went with my 2nd example. With my 4 ATR-72’s, I can hit 16 daily destinations on round trips from Cleveland. Depending on popularity of routes, may make some every other day and add in additional routes to fill those gaps. We’ll see how this goes, but I need to get my airline into the black because my cash reserves are down to $300k and that’s not a margin I like.
