I accidentally bought an aircraft

Hi everyone,

I just realised that when playing on my phone, I must have accidentally bought a second-hand aircraft on credit instead of leased it.

I don't want to own it as it's a 772 and expensive. But the market for those in Riem is currently saturated so it will take me ages to find someone to lease it out to or buy it. Is selling it my only option?

Thanks

Sell or lease is the only option. Unfortunately, there's no way to cancel it/reverse it.

I hope you find someone, who wants it

(Maybe post in the Riem forum, and some rich guy wants to help you…)

That is what you have to do to get rid of it. If your enterprise has not gone that far then you can just restart the airline. If it would have been on Stapleton I would help you buy the aircraft to my lease company. If somebody else has done the same mistake on Stapleton message me (ChristianPalsson) and we will discuss the terms of the sale. Or you can sell it on the market for 10% of book value and AS will buy it after 2 weeks.

Also why would you operate the A330, A380, 747, 767, 777, 787? Do you know that you need to pay quite a lot extra in maintenance for every category if you have more than 3 (and you have 7). As the 764 is the same type rating as the 777 but it is in maintenance category with the 767s (category number 7). I would say you should just use the 787 or 767 or A330 or A350 with the A380 or 747 and that together with the 737s make the total just 3 categories.

On the other hand, the availability of everything except the 787/A350 on the used market is quite high. It’s a tradeoff of 15/30/45/etc% higher maintenance costs (in my case, the extra would be just over 5 million/week for a 4th category) or saving 30-40% off the sticker leasing price by leasing from the used market instead of ordering new and having it today, instead of taking the final delivery weeks from now.

Thanks guys. Is true that if you offer an aircraft for sale and it hasn’t sold after two weeks, the AS “system” purchases it?

With regard to my various types, I had a vague idea that it increased maintenance costs but had never read it anywhere (where does it say?). But very cheap 772s, A380s and A330s on the second hand market are too irresistible for me. Over the long term I should probably start to reduce my categories I guess.

You can easily calculate how much you pay in maintenance and sum it for all your weekly flights on a particular aircraft and then see if the lease rate difference (in what you pay and what you should pay for such aircraft and age)is tilted in favor of leasing multiple types of lowering maintenance costs.

AS will buy your aircraft listed on UM, if it is listed for sale at 10% price, after 2 weeks it will be bought. This is for 10% so you will run a 90% depreciation loss (about 85% actually but that is another matter).

Okey dokey, thanks. Where is the information about maintenance categories found? I can't see anything about it on the Wiki.

Wait I am trying to offer it for sale for less than 100% but all the "offer" buttons are unclickable except for the 100% one. Why is that?

Ah yes, because you bought it on credit. You must first pay the credit off, and then you can list it for 10%.

How do I pay off the credit? You mean I have to actually spend like a hundred and something million dollars on it?
