I need help, I’ve watched videos, read through pages of help. But I just can’t get my aircraft to make a single flight.
I don’t want business help, I find the fun in these games is figuring out the gaps in the markets and they way to make money etc. What I’m struggling with is the mechanics. Im on my 3 restart on FREE II.
Ive started the company
Choosen the hub as Bristol
Bought just a single plane (I dont care about making money at this point)
Selected Maintenance program
Set up seat config for good rating and assigned to aircraft
Give employees 5% payrise just for good measure
Hired and assigned pilots
Set service profile and assigned to aircraft
Checked airport flight schedule at destination to see competition
Created a load of flights between Bristol and Edinburgh
Activated it for 3 days time to give enough time to sell tickets (as previously my plane didnt even take its flight that i set for a few hours away.)
Then i check the aircraft under its Reg and it just says “no action” with no flight scheduled. Even though they are all showing as green on the schedule.
Does someone have a link or video that show no business stuff, just how the game functions? I dont want a 50 minute video on how to optimally set up the best hubs in the world. I just want to know why my aircraft wont take off.
The “Flight Plan” tab shows about 30 scheduled flights for the aircraft, then I click the “Flights” tab and it says “no scheduled flights”.
I watched all the videos by Pinto, but he leaves off the critical part where you make the aircraft actually assign a flight and take to the sky.
At the bottom i selected the “3 days delayed” option. On a previous attempt my aircraft didnt take off and I was told i didnt leave enough time for passengers to buy tickets.
I understand this definitely isnt the most efficient or best way to use flights/aircraft etc.
I last scheduled for the 3 day option about an hour ago. Before that it was about 6 hours ago.
I feel like im missing something really fundamental here, like no fuel, or the Pilots left his glasses at home…
This shows when i click the specific aircraft. Bottom right shows no flight plan. Just dont want to wait 3 days to see if its worked though. And im guessing it shoudnt be showing this.
I assumed that you have not activated the flightplan but that is not the case. I would write to support an email and ask if that could be a bug.
You have done everything correctly so no idea why this happened.
I don’t know what is your local time and what is time displayed on screenshots, but it may well be that you need a bit of patience - it looks like you scheduled all flights to start at midnight; so the first flight will appear in “Flight” tab at midnight, for the flight in three days. So if your local time is 9PM now, you will see that first flight only in 3 hours; then other flights will follow as their departure time comes in.
And if your aircraft is not at your hub but elsewhere, don’t worry, it will be automatically set to a ferry flight to that first available departure airport.
Yeah I’ve got all my flights to start at midnight tonight. I did the same thing last night but woke up to no flight being made. I’ve asked support to check incase there is an issue, otherwise I will wait and see what happens this time.
I’ve found another guide so I’m going to go through that one too and see if I can get any different results.
Just out of interest. When you first start a world, do you normally have to wait 3 days for bookings to be made?
No, you can activate your flight plan immediatelly; but in that case, pax will have no sufficient time to find and book your flights, and your planes will fly mostly empty first day or two. That’s why 3 days delay is recommended.
Each hub has its own set time when most of the demand is distributed to available flights, you can see it at airport details, “Demand calculation” line; you obviously want to have all 3 days covered within your time - I mean, if an airport calculation time is 2 AM, you activate your flight plan at 3 AM, you will have no bookings untill next day at 2 AM; so if your flight departs at 10 PM, it will fly almost empty if you activate flight plan immediatelly, without 3 days delay.
I say almost, as there are some exceptions, like transfer pax, I think they can book outside that demand calc time, I’m not sure exactly on that, but in any case you should pay attention to the time of flight plan activation.
As for this specific issue, if you activated your flight plan yesterday, and there are still no available flights, then indeed there may be something wrong - I thought you activated flight plan at the time of writing your first post.
The bottom right says “no action”. Means “take no action”. So you’re not going to delete, lock, or activate the flight plan.
If you already activated it, “no action” means nothing changes, not that you have no flight plan.
You did a 3 day activation. Flights won’t show up immediately in your flights tab. You’ll need to wait until the flight time for them to appear.
If you want to check if you’re doing this right, get another plane and setup another schedule. instead of 3 day activation, activate immediately. With in a few minutes you should see all your flights appear on your “Flights” tab.
