Imagine the following.... you are sitting on your 1968 Cadillac deVille right under final for rwy 6 at LAX. The smell of the new 727 you just flew in hasnt worn off. You head home and say gosh what a golden age to live in!!
Point is wouldnt it be great if there was a timeline on a world of AirlineSim? Where can only start with "new" planes a la 727 707 and such? The world would advance and make newer planes available for purchase and the popularity of old ones decays in time?
I can foresee a "historic game world" but AS is played in real time, so if a historic world is played in the 80's, that's it, it will stick to the 80's for many real life years
It will be a good idea to start from old time. Maybe even starting from DC-6s and DC-7s, but in that case, I hope the delivery time of new aircraft and management of the properties would be more realistic since it would be a long time management. Everyone should buy their own plane just like in the real world. I don't see any real airline lease hundreds of aircrafts. When airlines bankrupt, it should be another company take over its properties, or they would be just gone.

Maybe we can accelerate time a little, maybe twice or three times faster so that we can spend our remaining lives playing it. :D
Based ont he previous dev post, I believe that the team always investigate the possibility for such worlds but they do have to overcome certain restriction like political changes or airport closure.

This "new idea" is in fact a really old one. Use the search function and you will find dozens of threads to that topic with many ideas, reactions of the team and outlinings of the problems that arise when creating an old world. But as in fact it seems to be the "wet dream" of quite a lot of players here, there may be a chance that such a world might become reality (but not very soon).
I think the main problems is to get exact details/informations regading the traffic rights between east and west and other countries (i.e. South Africa).
The world changed a lot from around 1980 till today.
