Logistics Provider or Logistics Customer

Hey guys, I saw this one today that I do not understand what it means, as I have never seen it before.

When we go to the "Contractual partners" tab of a company, we usually see a list with a lot of other airliners.

The most common business relations out there are:

- Lessor: usually Aircraft Trade and Leasing Organization (ATO)

- Interlining: someone with whom we signed a contract to share passengers

- Alliance: someone from our alliance with no IL agreement signed

- Alliance Interlining: someone from our alliance with an IL agreement signed

But then I saw these 2 new relations: Logistics Provider, and Logistics Customer. What do they mean? What are the benefits of that? What kind of agreement is it, or in other words, what's the diference comparing to an Interlining?

Cheers!

  • Provider = Someone that owns the cargo handling facility. Ie. I own a cargo shed in LHR, you want to use it, I will be your provider
  • Customer = That would be you in the above scenario

What you will find is I might be the provider in LHR for you the customer, yet in JFK you will be the provider, and me the customer

Ahh ok...

Its building PAX Terminals and Cargo Terminals and then selling capacity to another enterprise.... Got it!

Just in case....If your new to the game. Highly recommend do not even think about building anything :)
