Long Haul - Very Very Confused!!!!!

Hi all,

I have to say i'm very confused when it comes to what aircraft to use for distances more than 10,000 km!!!

I have a 777-200ER which is extremely unprofitable (dont know why)....

Please advice regarding to what type of aircraft i should use....

Many thanks!

There are several ways to deal with it, depending on the business model of your airline. The easiest model with little knowledge is surely the B 787-8.

I will also say if you buy the widebody plane, it will have a better profit margin.

My longest route is London to Sydney (16000km +), and I use the 787 for this.  Do not start any long haul routes until your airline is established and has a complete domestic network.  You wont get anywhere near enough PAX, as I suspect my Sydney flight fills up with transfer PAX from all over Europe....

of course, go through the Aircraft Evaluation tool to determine which aircraft is best. Depending on server, you maybe able to get some good discounts for secondhand aircraft, so you need to manually adjust (in your head, ms excel, or paper) the revised capital costs to determine cost per seat.

777-200ER is bugged with extremely high fuel consumption. Until they change 777's data, I would suggest you to return it and get a 787 instead.

That was the mistake i did... got an 777-200ER and i'm just waiting for the refund before i get the 787-8!!! :)
