For this to be fixed satisfyingly, there needs to be a need performance system. I am sure that will come but it is a tougher nut to crack than the new seating configurator.
Every time there is a suggestion for an improvement related to the airplanes it gets shut down: " ... it will come with the new performance system". Maybe there is a need for a statement from the team regarding the new performance system (status, plans, availability). We keep hearing about that for years already but nothing visible so far.

Believe me, giving this dreaded reply every time aircraft-related questions come up is at least as frustrating for us as it probably is for you.
All I can say is that a new set of (a lot) more advanced formulas is in the works. Should these formulas turn out to be satisfactory, our performance system will make a huge leap towards realism, taking into account things like airport altitudes and payload-dependent fuel consumption. There's just one big catch that we are currently trying to get out of the way, and that's whether we will be able to acquire the required input data for our existing aircraft models and for any models that might follow in the future. We also want it to be future proof in the sense that the new system needs to support our "aircraft construction kit" feature that's more or less been waiting for the required formulas to become available for years.
As soon as there's notable progress, we'll announce it. But for now, all we can do is wait.

That was a long rant- seriously guys please consider fixing it short term to make LH work and stop the b737-900 craziness. It really holds back a very good game.
We are fixing it. We won't add everything that influences fuel consumption to the new system for the obvious reasons you stated. But we'll add what's required to get a more sensible performance calculation compared to what our extremely simplistic (or better: wrong) linear system does. This linear system simply can't be "fixed". It uses the wrong input for the wrong formulas and there's nothing we can do about it but replace it with something that makes more sense.

I don't know whether my posts weren't clear enough or you refuse to accept the statement: New formulas are in the works and already finished to a large extend. We most definitely have enough issues to fight right now to waste time messing around with a feature that is about to be replaced anyhow.
“Don’t forget that different airports have different approaches so if the type of ac is able for RNP approach this will use less fuel than a non precision NDB/dme approach.”
I don’t think that is safe to assume at all. You have to then look at bringing on authorisation, cost of extra training of crew etc. it depends on the company procedure if an rnav is more fuel efficient or not. I’ve just done the rnav training and it is flown in the exact same way as our non precision approaches, usually on the same courses. The main advantage of the rnav will be doing a non-procession where aids do not exist, or been able to fly to a lower minima. It is not straight away more fuel efficient…
Thanks
Ian

ok fine
Don't let all the complains get you down. Keep up the good work AS Team! :)
I think the current model is quite detailed compared to other games.
I mean how many other games would calculate needed runway requirements that vary based on flight length fuel requirements due to different take-off weights?

Hi Mikk,
the purpose of the forum is to communicate. Deleting your posts doesn't help much...

Most if not all of the "stock" performance numbers are available from the big manufacturers through their aircraft information manuals. Now granted it does require you to be able to read the graph to put the correct information into your formulas, I would be more than willing to volunteer since as a pilot in real life, reading these charts is a walk in the park.

I think that as far as the performance, they also somewhat reply on "real performance data". That's why it has been mentioned that new aircraft models will not be release into the game until they are delivered in real life. Though with 787-900 we got it sooner than Air New Zealand did :-) I hope we will get A350-900 sooner than Qatar Airways.
