Hi All, do you know if there are any plans to sort out the fuel consumption? Is it extremely unrealistic.
Ruining gaming experience in some ways as I can use big or mid size planes on short routes.
Don't understand the problem in detail. Maybe you can give some examples?
I agree. One example: the B737-800 it's very unrealistic, from LGW-TFS will require roughly 5000 litres...in real life you'd want to double that.
It doesn't bother me it means more money for my company. But just saying.
You complain that 738 consumes too little? You are way off, it consumes too much comparably to other similar aircraft. 738 is an orphan aircraft model in AS, virtually nobody is flying it unless the aircraft is sourced on the cheap.
So according to performance check, in AS the 737 800 HGW consumes 16748 liters on 3.9 hour flight, which is 4295 liters per flight hour on average.
According to Air Berlin, their 738 consumes 2526 kg of fuel per flight hour

Which is 3198 liters for Air Berlin’s 737 800s.
We can see AS fuel consumption of 738 is actually 38 percent HIGHER than real life consumption.
Of course this uses average flight hour and it doesn’t count increased fuel burn for takeoff etc but for comparison between Air Berlin and AS the data is valid and fine.
So I do not know where you came up with the fact that in AS the consumption is lower than real life.

Possibly looking at the ATE tool? For me, it reports ~5000 for the -800HGW variants, but I’ve been playing long enough to know that’s AS$, not litres of fuel. To be fair, only the per-seat costs have units listed.
Yes I was looking at ATE. I didn't realise it was in AS $ as everywhere else in the game its referred to in litres I believe.
