There’s a new airport in India! The new Goa Manohar Parrikar (Mopa) Airport officially started operations this past Thursday. It’ll be the second airport serving Goa, which is a first for India.
Unfortunately it does not look to have all the runway connections facilitating 5 slots per minute, but in any way will be a welcome relief for Goa Dabolim (GOI) which currently only boasts 3 slots per minute.
As one can expect, the initial flights are domestic in nature, but Oman Air already plans to begin service from it’s Muscat hub.
It boasts a single, 3,750m runway.
