Guess it’s time for an update!

Guess the update will be implemented ONCE the aircraft entered Service (according to the article in the 2nd quater this year) AND we have sufficient data to implement it. So you may want to send this again to the Support.

Thank You

I don't possess the performance data for the aircraft, otherwise I would've send it ASAP. But that's more like work for the AS development team...since we pay for it and all. Just wanted to share the news with the AS community.

Cumpliments

Well i did not ment to upset you ...... Of course the development Team always collects data when they become available.... but as you know we are working on other things as well so if you can just sent a small note to the Support Team that there is a new 330 coming up with a higher MTOW. So we have the Information where it should be ... here in the Forum it could get lost otherwise

This is a good example of Airbus' PR with the 242t variant! There are already plenty of 235t A330 in the air (for half a decade now) and nobody cared. I don't care either because all the team is telling us is the joke "we are working on the new performance system" (also for almost half a decade). Thank god that we have a new user interface now.  Yeah sorry I'm frustrated...

Sorry to hear that you are frustrated, but since AS is a very complex game ... structure and gameplay wise, all the changes you see at the Moment are building the foundation for further enhancements including the Performance System. Martin found out that with the current structure and the intentions we like to have with the Performance System, it will simply not work. If you recall the new Performance System will bring lots of flexebility... for example you can choose your engines for the airplane etc. Our old gameplay was limited and a lot of the Information like fuel burn etc was more generic. So we need to Change a lot of data collection and Provision of data to be able to get the Performance System work the way we like to see it work. Since Martin is the only programmer it takes time.

@ pleurotides - the new performance system is planned for release for the first half of 2015, so just hang in there ...

hey, thanks ;) I don't have any plans to leave the game - I will stay no matter what ;)

Since rubiohiguey2000 is speading information here that he doesn't actually have: Big disclaimer concerning that date. We have initial formulas in early-stage testing but the results are still completely open, especially concerning the availability of the required data.

Sorry martin it was my impression from posts in the public forum that the idea was to release this in the first half of 2015. I did not mean spread misleading information.

No worries. Just wanted to clarify the wording. We "hope" to have something ready and we "are" working on new formulas. But there is absolutely no guarantee what-so-ever that the formulas AND the required data will be ready by the time we'd need them (which would be a general roll-out of the new version without restrictions to the speed-overrides).

Lemme give people an impression how many options an airline in RL has to customize an airplane ...

Just for the A330-300 there are PLENTY of MTOW versions - 184 / 205 / 209 / 212 / 215 / 217 / 230 / 233 / 235 / 238 / 242 tons - most of those weight variants have for their own between one (1) and three (3) MZFW options, additionally there are hundred possibilites of OEW since seats, galleys etc. are specific to every airline (even every single plane). Payload varies hugely with all these options and with payload there is also a variation in performances (even if it's just some few NM/km). And don't forget the engine options... omg.

And that's just the A330-300... the Boeing 747 (I did make myself some Excel overview j.f.f.) is breaking an elefant neck with the options they had in the last 40-50 years. :D

One could go on forever making this game one huge mathematic and physic system... but I guess people would be overwhelmed by all the options and numbers.

Also I would love it! :D

Me too. I would be running a GE-only engined fleet (well, CFM for my 737s) and selecting awesome bathrooms and galleys. Oh and a bar, because I'm a functional alcholic ;)

Did I mention that I've always wanted an airline that charges for alcohol to set up pay-bar in coach in the last rows? At least I would be more willing to spend the $$$ on booze if I am surrounded by like minded and probably interesting people? Also might make more profit than a couple of extra K-fare flyers.

Why GE only???

If I remember correctly, GE engines options will cost you more money in general when you buy the plane.  ;)

Why GE only???

You get what you pay for. GE makes the best engines.

I’d have agreed, would you have said J79…
