Not making money?

I just leased a few Saab 340B's replacing my Raytheon 1900 Airliners. I have one flying back and forth from Chicago O'Hare to Detroit and I looked at how much money it would make at 92% capacity..

It was $2,865. However, the indirect costs still said I was losing $1,153 mostly from maintenance.

I have the cheapest contractor. Are aircraft like this unable to make a profit?

19-seaters are generally tricky IMO. I had my share of problems and just in this moment this will probably cause the collapse of one of my companies ;-) The Saab 340 can be operated efficiently. They are nice aircraft in the 30 - 40 seat-market.  $1,153 seems to be rather high...

I don´t know a reason for this.

How old are the planes? It might be the high maintenance costs ripping you off...

They average 23 years old.

What are you configurations? And your maitnence ratio? How many flights you fly daily? Is the maintenence ratio sits between 100% - 200% (the ideal sector)?

All of them are between 100-200%. The configuration is standard, 37 seats.

Any help please? I really want to know if the balance will even out eventually.

I had a load of Let 410's and had trouble making any profit, I got rid of them and put on Bombardier Dash 8 Q400's and passenger numbers improved greatly.

I’d need more info in order to help you. A screenshot of your flight costing would help a lot for example.

I'm resetting and buying some Dash 8's. Thanks for the help.
