So, like many airlines I assume, I share many of the same seats between different aircraft and seating configurations.
When I terminate the lease on an aircraft, I think it would be great if I could pick the seats from it to use in another aircraft. In some aircraft the configuration can be almost $500k.
That's already on our feature list, but there has to be developed another feature first. So please don't expect this to be released in short term period - maybe more a long term feature.
Unfortunately, I don't think it's something AS would do. It's been like this since I started playing, and I know they know how to make it like that because we did have a one-shot refund on seats installed after a few miscalculations with the new cabin configuration tool. Since it hasn't been put in for everyone at all times, I'd put my money on AS not wanting this.

Hi Sascha,
in theory that would allow to use the same seats again and again and again.
The average real passenger doesn't see the difference between a twenty year old 735 and a new 73G. But they see if the cabin looks fresh and new, or old and worn. If you allow to re-use seats, I would suggest to slowly lower the rating of the seats. In the same way the rating of a plane deteriorates with age.
In my opinion, this makes more sense than a rating of the technical condition. One, passengers don't have a clue about the technical condition of a plane (unless the emergency door next to your seat hisses throughout the flight ;-) and our planes stop flying anyway if the condition drops below 50%.
Besides, real life airlines also refurbish their planes when the seats are getting old.
Sure, but if you assign another seat config (even with the same seats or just with another name but same config) you have to pay teach seat again and the "old" ones will be destroyed...
Yes, but I think it is not logical to create multiple seat configs just to replace aging seats.
If, and when, seats age, there should be option to "renew seats", using the same configuration, not having to create new and new configurations.
I think people here are a bit tired of having to recreate seat configs every couple of months, especially those of us who use multiple customized seat configs for each plane type.
Is it the weekend of misunderstanding? I never told to have any cabon configuration to be replaced by another one. Come on guys - read and don't dream or have nightmare what may come or not somewhen ;)

Yeah, sk totally knew what I was asking and answered the question, and its very clear this is something they've thought out pretty thoroughly.
We have a plan that you will be able to store "used" seats and then use them in a different plane if that is what you think about. But before that we need to implement some background features that are simply not there yet. Martin is the one and only developer for Airlinesim and you might be aware that he is currently working extensivly to keep all servers running smoothly which is at the moment not the case. So until that is accomplished there is no work on any game improvement. It will take a bit longer now then we wished but the server problems delayed the work on any development.
