Generally newbie here, hello to everyone. I have a question conserning short-hauls feeding long-haul. In Pearls I decided to try it out, created a hub to Manchester. My short-haul routes are quite good filled with passengers but my long-hauler to JFK and MIA is rather empty and making quite a loss to my business.
My question is, do I have to interline with my own company to be able to get more pax to my long-haul flights and vice versa? Or is it just matter of waiting and seeing how things are going to go?
Thank You already for Your replies. It's exciting to build up companies (my first one is doing quite well in Croydon).
Yes, internal networking has to be enabled for passengers to connect to other flights. But it's enabled by default and I doubt you've changed it.
The real problem is that you have far too few feeding flights. You should first establish a strong hub with many more destinations and then start long-haul operations.
Depending how large your short haul network is, I wouldnt really worry about long haul flights. I only started long haul flights when I had over 800 weekly departures from my hub, now everyone is different, and every hub is different, but its so much easier to build long haul from a very strong short haul. Also if you have IL partners it also helps.
On Nicosia my UK hub has 3000 departures and I still cant fill a daily 737 to MIA, it just wont fill up. Real life demand on that route is not replicated in the game, you will be much better to start a New York route. These always fill up from UK airports.
But the others are right, build your short haul first.
