I personally believe that the 707 and 720 should be put into the game because the are in (limited) use and it would be cool to give people the option.
Hi,
as far as I know no 707 is in commercial service anymore since Saha Air stopped operations. There are some variants which are still used by the military, but these don't count as it's not commercial. Airlinesims policy is to only include aircraft which are flying in commercial service and this is not the case anymore...but I think you can use 707 on the Retro-Server when it is launched
Alright, Operations of the 707 were threatened by the enactment of international noise regulations in 1985. Shannon Engineering of Seattle, Washington developed a hush kit with funding from Tracor, Inc, of Austin, Texas. By the late 1980s, 172 Boeing 707s had been equipped with the Quiet 707 package. Boeing acknowledged that more 707s were in service then than before the hush kit was available.[26] Most remaining 707s are in freighter form, or as Business Jets.[27] That is from wikipedia BTW So only 707 Frieghters but 707s nonetheless.
If you want a 707, just play a different server where it is available.
Still, as of January 1, there are ZERO 707s in active commercial operation.
And why do you want the 707 anyway? I think you need a 200% loadfactor to get in profitable
I just think it would be cool, no real reason.
Sadly the maintenance costs would be horrible. I tried to operate the Douglas DC-8 but the main burden were the maintenance costs...
Like several others, I'm a fan of the older jets. 707s, 727s, MD/DCs, the early Airbus, old Tupolevs and Yaks...
Someday, they say, AS will come up with a way to do an older (60s-80s era) server. I'd happily sign up for that.
Turns out, It is in on Gatow I may just have to give it a shot…
