wages for new staff

If I hire pilots and new staff today, ad tomorrow is the week-end closing, would their wages get pro-rated (paid only 1 day) or would they get full week's worth of wages?

they will receive a full week's wage.

... is there a way to order aircraft without hiring and training pilots at the same time, other than having at that moment in the bank account the amount of cash which is exactly in the interval [cost of the aircraft, cost of the aircraft + pilot training)?

Disable "hire pilots automatically" in game settings for your game world. My airlines all use older (cheap) aircraft so if I see good deals on UM I just lease them, park them without pilots and seats, and couple of days later when I have time I schedule them and transfer them to my base at the same time. (put in seats -> schedule -> hire pilots -> wait for ORS update every 30 minutes* -> transfer to the appropriate city -> cancel any flights that are scheduled prior to arrival of the transfer flight).

* I usually do immediate schedule activation, and then cancel flights for the next 1-2 days on thinner routes, or just start immediately in 24 hours on trunk routes.

Thank you.

OT (but related since I wanted to use it for your post), in this post TimS talks about a reputation system: ”In this new system, you'll find a plus and a minus button at the bottom right corner of each post.”

However I see no plus/minus bottom at any post on the forum :)

So?

Thank you.

You can use the "Like This" button just above the poster's signature line to the right.  However, there's no corresponding "Dislike This" button.  Although, I suppose you could use the "Report" button next to the Multi/Quote options if the content is rule-breaking enough.

Hi,

yep, that's how it worked. And to be honest, I missed that minus button a few weeks ago during the heated discussion about the slimeline seats in first class. I am sure a few people would have seen a lot of red at the bottom of their posts.

I believe the plus and minus got lost with the new forum software. So now we play Facebook and like things  :P

Personally I miss them too, but many people are not able to handle critics so the reasonable usage of + and - is not working. Guess that's why there won't be ever a "don't like it" button on social media sited.
