I see close to 20 airlines on Quimby already have IPOs running.
Is there any huge benefit to this?
I can only see it meaning 4M dollars in return for 30% or so
when you could wait a few months and cash in alot more.

So early on there is not many players with cash available to invest. It is illogical to invest so early on both from airline's and investor's perspective. Airline can get more money later on as its value grows. Investors can get better use of their money leasing and flying planes. So I agree with you that such situation of 20 IPOs running is out of ordinary and quite strange.
Btw I decided not to play on Quimby as I am already spread among several different airlines on multiple servers and they are eating quite many credits every day. But I would not plan on making any airline on temporary server unless it was at least one year duration and this one will last only 8 months.
IPO decision is one of the hardest to make. I'm very glad I did mine but it took weeks of debating before I finally pulled the trigger. Get too large and no one can afford it but start too soon and you won't get enough. You need an alliance to bolster you and let them know days before you intent.
I understand @rubiohiguey2000 his opinion from an added value point of view.
From a cashflow point of view I think there are 2 strategies. One by leasing many cheap aircrafts and generating money. I am not sure that these players are able to convert their IL-18 planes to other planes when demand from PAX is there. Second strategy is to start an airliner with a modern fleet. That is more expensive and by publish an IPO at an early state of the game you will get some cash to speed up capacity growth.
Point I want to make is that an IPO at an early state of the game is to generate more cash if you are not using old and cheap equipment.

Absolutely correct.
