Both Boeing 737 family and A320 family increased production rates by 20-30% in the last 3 years. I think AS should reflect this faster production rate and decrease production time by the same 20-30%.
Also I would like to know if the A320 manufacturing will reflect China and Alabama plants.
While this is undeniably right, i am not sure, whether a higher production rate wouldn’t endanger the game balance. As I understand the current system, the production rate across the different types is not only derived from real data, but also skimmed to balance growth and the advantages of different aicraft types.
I mean, I would happily even schedule more aircraft, but in terms of balancing I think the current rate is rather to high then to low.
Embraer delivers 85-90 E-Jet planes per year, yet its delivery rate is 1 per 15 hours.
Embraer's production rate should be reduced to 1 per 12 hours at least, to more accurately reflect the true situation that Embraer produces more panes, faster, than Bombardier. It produces 3x more planes per year than Bombardier does, yet Embraer's production rate in AS is 20% slower than Bombardier's.
That’s perfectly right. However, as said, the reality might not be the right measure.
Anyway, I don’t really understand the low production rate of Embraer either. The aircraft is from a balancing view the more or less the same as the CRJ, actually I believe it to be a bit less attractive for many markets, though the production rate should be probably equal.
I only scanned over the docs provided, but we have to keep in mind that output and rate are two different things.
I have not seen any statements regarding actual production time of one individual aircraft as this is what the discussing should be based upon. Total output gives you no information about that and has no place in AS as the output can - theoretically - be infinite here, as orders by different holdings are being handled simultanously.
Yes, yukawa, I know the "production line" is infinite, 100 holdings can get a same plane type on the same day.
I do not think it takes Embraer more time to assemble a particular plane than it takes to Bombardier.
In my second post in this thread, I was pointing out that 737/320 productions are balanced (same time for production), CRJ and EMBRAER should be balanced as well.
It is pretty bonkers having infinite and rapid production rates of aircraft then limiting slots at the airfields. The whole game seem so to be less sim and more late comers pay to keep the server running for the early exploiters of the loopholes to make 600 strong widebody fleets in the first month
Also, consider that I have purchased >300 AN-148, >100 AN-140, >300 SSJ. For that, those companies would BUILD me my own Factory/Spare parts center(s) to get production rates down like Boeing built Emirates the 777X ;)
I would suggest that production rates be based on AS order levels up to a certain point. I feel that since I bought 100 AN-140, the production time should be below 100 hours...
The production time can't be switched within seconds in real life too. Like building a new runway to increase the production time, the facilities have to be built. So when this aircraft types are getting common in real life (and the price will be kept with shorter production times) we will change them in AirlineSim too. But we can not only add benefits without having disadvantages.
