A319 High Density

Hi all,

What reason is there to use the A319 High Density? Compared to the A320 Light, the A319 HD burns more fuel on comparable routes while seating fewer passengers using Slimline HD seats. Furthermore, the A319 HD will cost almost the same amount, when leasing, compared to the A320 Light, which seems to have better all round economics.

What’s the point of having the A319 HD in the game? What advantage does it offer?

Thanks,

JustPlaneBad

The HD version is certified to carry 160 passengers as apposed to 145. This is due to two extra overwing exits, check out the Easyjet A319s.

In game as you've identified probably not much, but it may be cheaper in some situations if its that unpopular

Airline Sim, includes aircraft that are incredibly hard to operate and are basically there to fill the number of aircraft, such as the IL 62. Although this aircraft is still in operational service with many airlines. In the game, the aircraft is barely functional with high operating costs, insane fuel consumption why would you buy this aircraft.

And how is the different to real life?

There is also one advantage of 319 HD I was not aware of until very recently, if used properly it can increase you image rating.

Very true, Hello Air Koryo

two extra jumpseats

...such as the IL 62. Although this aircraft is still in operational service with many airlines. ...

The number of commercial operators is zero. The roughly one dozen units is in service with paramil./gov. services or freighter. If at all.

Why would you then operate it? The only time Ilyushins have been useful in AirlineSim was on Quimby 2. Anybody else remembers spamming with IL-18s! :D

well, when airlinesim has been started a larger number of IL-62 was still in service.

now they quickly disappear.

on pearls i operate an airline with IL-62, DC-8 successfully (the 3rd type is 737) and enjoy that

well, on kaitak i have an airline with IL-18 and CV 580. i find it cool :)

but the financial condition looks troublesome

It's certainly hard to run those old birds, especially the Russian ones.

I am in no position to talk about old aircraft as I always prioritise image thereby I dont operate old planes. The oldest planes I operate are 50 757 on Stapleton and some 737-300Fs and 757Fs on a closed world.

757s are easy aircraft to operate. It's extremely to break balance as long as you have enough PAX onboard. I haven't used it for quite some time, but in my memory, it's even better a better aircraft than 737s, if you regard ages and just talk about the operations.

I have some difficulties operating aging props with profit. For me, from easiest to most difficult, it's 757/ATR42/72(old versions) - IL86/744/DC8 - DC9/747 classics/BEA Jetstream - EMB120/SAAB 340 - CN235

I think i'm going to stop here as it's off topic

We are going really off topic now but personally I believe the EMB120, SAAB 340 and Jetstreams (I have operated them) are quite easy to operate. They are not even close in profits with ATR42s but they dont make losses if properly loaded. I have also operated 744s and they are gold mines. Otherwise I have never played with the others mentioned.

I like the Saabs as well 340b b+ and 2000 of course, all are pretty good, but suck for image LOL
