As the title suggests, what is the better plane for this game. Some worlds are heavy Airbus, some worlds are heavy Boeing. Personally, it seems like the A320 series is a better option. Thoughts?
In total, the differences are small. The choice should probably depend on what specific (small) advantage of the two aircraft families you prefer.
Regarding long range, the B737 is a better choice, mainly because of the 737-900ER HGW. This can be a big difference, depending on your location and the routes that this will enable.
Regarding cargo, the A32X is a better choice, especially on game worlds with dynamic turnarounds, because it can use containers and the B737 only supports the slow bulk loading.option.
If you want maximum capacity, the A321 is a bit bigger than the B739.
I mostly chose the A32X as well, but it depends on the situation - when starting on a game world with many (at least a bit cheaper) B737 available, I'd definitely go for the B737.
Depending on your complete fleet structure (maintenance categories), you can also decide to simply use both - enabling you to always get the best deal available regarding price and capabilities.
In my latest ventures I have used both at the start. Usually because there are usually many used 737s available at decent prices. Operating both categories also gives enormous flexibility when acquiring aircraft. Basically I can take anything that my preferred lessors offer. I prefer all A320s except for the A319 as they deliver better economics but for Europe that A319 category is crucial thereby I use the 737-700. The new Cseries is a great alternative but as a new airline slicing into a pretty saturated market I need to expand with quantity as quickly as possible. That is why 5 year old 737s are better for me than brand new factory ordered Cseries.
Two additional points:
Airbus has two assembly lines, so once you’re rolling more money than you know what to do with you can quire new models faster (A320s from TLS and 321s from XFW).
Boing offers the 737-700F, which allows you to enter the cargo market without adding a new type.
Both aircraft families offer two assembly lines - but the breakdown is different.
- For Airbus, the A320 has it's own assembly line, while A318/A319/A321 share an assembly line.
- For Boeing, B736 and B73G share an assembly line and B738 and B739 share an assmbly line as well.
This can probably make quite a difference, depending on your requirements.
Ah, thank you, did not realize that.
So there's no definitive answer, its all on price, availability and network.

If there was a definitive answer, then all game worlds would be skewed in one particular direction. We've got too many players with Excel skills who like to optimise the dickens out of everything.
As the two aircraft families are equally matched, it does give you the choice of which one you want to use. Choose the Boeings for the range of the -900ER, or the Airbus for the increased cargo capacity on smaller variants. Or operate both, using a subsidiary for the regional aircraft.

I do not run my airline 100% from Excel but is it a part of it. I have started in a saturated EU market with only narrow and wide bodies. I have a formula which allows me to have top rating on every route. Thereby I will be the first to receive those direct passengers and fill most of my routes and I have yet only shut down one route which was completely without demand. When knowing that one can calculate future operations, growth and project profits through analysing excel sheets. I operate a very low cost model cutting every possible cost which does not sacrifice my rating to maximise profits. Even if I make two dollars more per passenger I will be able to get one additional plane per week. When getting stuck due to slots there is always room to optimise the operation. many of us are business people and some of us like working with numbers even on free time just that one can be more bold here as there is no real money on the line ;).
However you calculate your excels A321s and 737-900ERs will be about equal. A320s and 738s will also be about equal but with the NEO taking the edge slightly. The 737-700 completely out beats the A319 in low fuel prices (current situation). The 737-600 and A318 are almost exactly tied. If you plan top operate mostly the smaller models then go for the Cseries, they beat all 737 and A320 competitors.
Last december, i´ve done a big analysis of the game world i am playing on (Pearls, see more here). A part of it was, to count all manufactured planes. I didn´t made a difference between "in use" or "waiting at the market", because imho, thats only a very low influence to the result.
And this is the result from pearls: people seems to like the 737-900 more than every other Boeing (or Airbus) plane.
(Airbus lights an heavies, and Boeings BGWs and HGW (and all other subtypes) are summarized per type)
This is just a view to server pearls at december of 2016, and other servers may showing a total different situation.

>>> A320 series vs 737 Series. What is better?
It is offtopic but to answer your question: it is too easy to beat you, highlander222
And now back to the topic.
I believe that the A320s are better especially on the GATOW server where they are currently being leased out at a very low rate.

Sorry but whose airline Liquedated and whose did not just sayin
I liquidated Fly Turkey as I was bored... that's all...
By the way: beside of your Turkish airlines, how many companies have you liquidated in the last 2 weeks?
Sure, you were bored yeah, not that you ran out of money or anything

And who is the one saying I am of topic when all my posts on this topi mention both 737s and A320s? Even this post mentions them.
