A350-900 vs 1000

What is the difference? Both planes have 440 pax capacity, -1000 is more expensive but what for?

I was wondering that too. That must be a typo, right?

Side note: I just bought a 900 a few hours ago. Wish I waited!

Same as 343 vs 346 440 is the exit limit, try it with a nicer configs and it will take more seats.

extra cargo space.

ah, ok

Anyhow, first orders on Idlewild!!!

That makes sense, thanks. It's probably a good thing too, as it means it will be even more fuel efficient.

35K provides more seats and more cargo space

Maximum capacity is a pretty meaningless number anyway as the real capacity you get is determined by the available cabin floor space. There are aircraft like the ATR 42 which have stated a capacity of 60 passengers, but even in Slimline HD config could only physically take 52 seats...

Sure but I could not figure out why the longer -1000 version costs 20 M AS more…

Well, that's not exactly rocket science: It's a premium for the higher efficiency... It's still cheaper to operate than the -900.

However, I was afraid that the A350-1000 is going to be the 747 Killer, hopefully it isn’t.

747 died due to the twin jets. A350 is more meant to go against the 777.

You would be right if you are regarding to real world Aviation, but in AS the 747 is still a competitive plane

I am disappointed with the capacity of A350-1000. It accommodates fewer pax than even a B777-300, Cant even think of 747 replacement with this.

Well, it is slightly smaller. But more efficient

Of course it accommodates fewer passengers than 777-300. It is about 20 cm shorter and 25 cm narrower than 777-300ER. That is quite a number of seats that can be installed on a 777-300.

Airbus website states max seats for A359 @400?

You can check the official certification documents, I believe they are linked on Wikipedia. They state an evacuation limit of 440 for both A350 types.

I'm a little bit surprised by the number of jumpseats. The A350-1000 can fit in much more passengers in three-class-layout, than the -900, but the maximum number of FAs is still at 18. Would have expected at least one or two more jumpseats for the crew.
