Real Case:
International Airlines Group (IAG) and Vueling have signed a purchase agreement to buy 62 Airbus A320s – 30 A320ceo and 32 A320neo – plus options for 58 A320 Family aircraft, as part of the airline’s fleet development and modernisation strategy.
In reality, when an airline order airplanes, instead of immediate order it can add options for more. I read this as they want a guarantee of lower price when they adding these options. And also, one may not need so many airplanes at this time, want them to be delivered later.
Suggestion:
In game, we have same situation. When one order 50 airplanes, they will get 5%off. While they order only 1 airplane, no discount. It would be useful to add buy option.
Operation:
When one make orders, it made an agreement to buy 25 airplanes plus buy option for another 25 airplanes. In the game, 25 airplanes will be immediate assigned and the buy option will be stored in the "order" page (it may expired in a month or some time in the future as reality). When one has enough money and want these airplanes to be delivered, they can execute the option order and the airplanes will be assigned.
What will prevent abuse? Lets say you only need and plan to get 5 airplanes but add a buy option of 50 more (or whatever maximum is) just to reduce prices?
I consider the proposal quite interesting. And to prevent abuses: if you are not using your option you have to pay a penalty bigger than what you gain by using the option (e.g. if you have a 5% discount you will have to pay 10 - 15% penalty and all other costs as if you are order only the already delivered planes).

You may want to look at the previous thread of the last person who tried to suggest this.
Also, if you want my personal opinion, I really wouldn't like this. I'm not arguing but search up the last "discount" thread.

Thanks, I found the topic you mentioned.
Things here is a bit different, the discount is already in the game, I am not making suggestion on having discount but making use of an existing discount.
For abuse things, I have no idea when I make this suggestion. But having deposit or penalty would be a good way to prevent this.

Well if you were given a discount for buying a large number of planes, who do you think is going to benefit from this, old larger companies or new smaller companies? I don't mean to sound harsh but at the moment (and after the recent AGEX changes) I like the game the way it currently is. ^_^

Well, the feature I suggested actually support new player. Since new players have less money to put on a large order, what they can do to achieve the same discount as an old/successful player? They can use "buy option", say order 5 airplane but with 45 buy option to get full discount, and when you have enough money, you can change the "buy option" to real order.
For old/successful player, I have to say the benefit is limited. I think the new player in this game is more difficult than old/successful player, so why not give them a little benefit?
I don't think that is very realistic. How many new airlines do you see starting up ordering 5 airplanes and options for 45? Only those with massive financial backing. Only larger pre-existing companies tend to purchase with an option of that large ammount

Options are not for free, the real companies pay a percentage of the whole price
