Hi,
In certain cases, you might want to adjust seating in a way that is not a complete do over.
For example. You might want to remove a row of seats to increase seat pitch. In real life this case you would employ a team of few mechanics for a couple of hours to take out six seats and move the other seats backward a bit.
But in AS, you need to pay for the entire cabin all over again.
So suggestion: Would it be feasible in these cases to refund certain percentage of the old cabin layout. You would of course still have to pay something, as labor too costs money.
Seconded!
I thought this topic was discussed many times but nothing was done.....I don't suppose it is a very hard coding problem isn't it?

The problem here is figuring out how much it should cost and when. If you change all the seats you should still have to pay full price, right? (possibly subtracting anything you can get by selling old seats second hand).
The game would have to be able to compare old and new layouts and see how many of the same seats you are still going to use.
The game also needs to keep track of how much the old seats you scrap are worth (how old are they?) and/or let you store them until you need to install them in another aircraft (which the game need to recognize if so).
Does storing the seats cost you any money? Can you sell the old seats after storing them, perhaps even on a second hand seat market to other players? How expensive is labor to make the re-installation?
As you can see it gets complex pretty quickly just to figure out the cost...
But you wouldn’t have to cater to every real world scenario. Maybe just the ones where the only change is removal of seats to increase pitch ? Or vice versa, adding existing seats (assuming there is still room) and decreasing pitch.
The current cabin configurator already can do this as long as the seats are not assigned to any aircraft. So the comparison would be quite straight forward. Compare old and new, and charge for difference. Don’t store any seats, just toss them away after the change.
If seat types were to be changed, the it would work as it already does.
