I noticed something interesting. Many aircrafts are for sale on the new system, and the condition ranges from 70%-90%.
I accidentally purchased one at 76% CASH… Obviously no one outbid me.
My point is, I thought to myself, "let me keep the airplane, and I will just condition it back to 100% through extra maintenance".
That didn’t work. The highest condition the airplane ever reached was 76%, no matter how much time I scheduled it for maintenance. Why is that? And if that’s how it is, I dont think airplanes with less than a 95% condition should be allowed to be sold.
The condition improves when you leave time for maintenance, but it only updates the value once it flies again… so schedule a flight and once it departs from the airport, it should show 100%
I played with this a while ago, and forgot exactly what I found. I think though that the maintenance doesn’t begin until after the first flight (so do 1 flight, sit for a while, then on the second flight it will be all charged up.)
That or the cold medicine is messing with my head.
I have bought/leased several planes with a low maintenance condition. By the time the plane leaves for its first scheduled flight, the maintenance condition is always at 100%. And as said before, you only see the changed condition when the plane takes off.
Have the same issue here. Started a new airline and leased a cheap 320-100 with condition of 49%. It arrived and sat at KUL for half a day before the first flight.
However, first flight (originating KUL) was cancelled… what’s the reason? Now the airline is really short on cash since the two full flights were cancelled…
One more thing… Do you have a maintenance provider selected and did you have enough money in the bank at the time of departure to pay for the maintenance? The maintenance cost would come to be charged before you generate revenue from the flight.
Hey Guys, I have 4 maintenance category aircraft (A320, E95, B788, ATF). What happens if i fly all of them except the ATF (which i lease out)? Will i pay more maintenance or not?
