airlinesim on android

Hello everybody

I want to ask if anybody plays airlinesim on android device.

I currently am on a business trip and try to access my company from galaxy s4, but when I zoom in the top menu is messed up both in stock browser and in chrome and I cannot even access many top menu options when I zoom in. Any suggestion about this?

Yep, same thing in firefox.  I can turn it to landscape and squint but thats about all I've figured out so far.

Hi .

I'm looking into AS with my Galaxy S3 and the Android TAB (but switched to Chrome for the TAB) and it is a little tricky, but I can access all the menus.

When accessing menus press the area (fleets or so) longer, until S4 asks you, if you would like to open in an new tab.

As soon as this happens you may klick something else.

Not really the best way to look into AS, but ok for a short check.

Chrome android works fine with AS /edit: for me.

Kind Regards

Sven

That's what I'd say. Use Chrome whenever using an Android device. It's not perfect, but you can access every links.

Besides this I guess the menue should reload in landscape, as soon as you push at the main menu (overview page or so)?

Sometimes it is hard to switch between airlines as well, but I use the ingame message page in case of any problems.

Yes I access in landscape mode.

What I found out is that at server home page the top menu is perfectly accessible - see image 1. After I go inside the airline the top menu is messed up - see image 2. After I go to server home again the top menu is fine again. It looks like bad html formatting for mobile while inside the airline.

Hi, I have a similar problem on my HTC 8X (Windows Phone 8) None of the drop down menus appear meaning its impossible to do much at all :/

But there is no problem if you use Safari from iOS to launch the AS. In this case, Apple does better.

Yeah, Its an android thing.

Maybe the developers can take the feed back and create a mobile version- doesn't have to be complex- we just need the top bar changed into something more accessible. The rest we can live with.

Actually, as can be seen from my screenshots, the top bar works very well in both landscape mode and portrait mode but only on SERVER HOME page (not enterprise home, but server home where you have news, fuel prices graph etc.). This is after you log in, or click the very first "Home" link in the top left corner. There, the top menu works very well, you can zoom in, etc. and you can move around the top menu. What this means that there is some kind of bad html formatting on other pages.  It makes no sense if the top menu is perfectly fine, you can move around it right and left, zoom in and out, and it stays 100% neat, but only on "Server Home" page, and on other pages it's messed up. This is only and only HTML formatting, maybe something is "forced" on other pages (like forced alignment to right or something), but if developers see what is the alignment difference between the server home - http://tempelhof.airlinesim.aero/action/portal/index?ticket=xxxxxxxxxxx and other pages then they can resolve this fairly quickly, For now, the workaround is to always go back to the server home page (by clicking the "Home" link under airlinesim logo in top left corner), and access the airline top menu from there, because there it works flawlessly.

Yeah, Its an android thing.

They just need to see what is the formatting/alignment difference in HTML code between the "server home" e.g. http://tempelhof.airlinesim.aero/action/portal/index?ticket=xxxxxxxx and other pages.

OK, just did another test, now I changed resolution to 800x600 on my Windows 7 OS laptop running firefox based clone (Palemoon).

It DEFINITELY is bad HTML formatting of the top black bar.

See attachment.

It's been awhile since I tried access AS from Android device, but I remember that turning "Compact form factor for tables (as in 1.3)" in settings helped a lot with top menu.

Works perfectly on my Android with chrome and 1280x720 pixles resolution, I play it almost every day this way. Sure you need to zoom to see the menu but that's nothing strange when browsing any webpage with lower resolution screen.

@alex_brunius You want to tell me that after you click e.g. Fleet Management in the top bar, and you zoom in, your top menu is working fine and is not messed up after you zoom in?

Yes. Works fine when holding device sideways so I get 1280 width resolution.

You are right that the menu becomes messed up if you zoom in to much, but then just don't do that? :)
