After a while I started playing again, and I was glad surprise than the demand of the airports in my home country was updated. But I can’t understand the logic after the update.
Is difficult get why Antofagasta(ANF- 2.3 MM) and Puerto Montt (PMC- 1.85MM) get update to 5 bars, but Concepción (CCP- 2.1MM) and Iquique (IQQ- 1.8MM) stick in 4 bars. Worst case is Calama (CJC- 2.2MM) obtain just 3 demand bars, less demand than Puerto Natales (PNT) with just 180k passengers in 2023.
I understand the difficulty of maintaining updated all airports in the world, but the last demand update in Chile has a big discrepancy with the data. If help is needed, I have no problem offering help searching and updating data from Chile and South America
Thanks for sharing your observations!
I’ll check the demand data source files tomorrow to see what reference years were used and which differences I spot.
If necessary we can finetune the numbers for the next data patch!
As promised tonight I had a look at the Chile demand data.
Just to explain a couple of things:
the last data patches were massive in terms of research work; we mostly researched from available bulk data. That resulted in some countries only the major airports were updated, and smaller airports not yet. Thanks to your datasource, I was now able to update all Chile airports demand data. Thanks for that!
a few airports (of which CJC) the number was bugged and now fixed.
several airports are on the brink of 4 and 5 bar. While the bars may give you a good indication, the actual demand may be more in the gray area.
All the updates and fixed are submitted for the next data patch!
Very grateful for your reply and explanation about demand calculation. it’s a really demanding task research data of most airports around the world in numerous languages .If it’s not a problem, I’d like a little help with 2023 data sources for Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay.
