So this question I’m sure has been brought up multiple times but if you have an alliance partner, do you still have to interline w/ them in order to have the passenger and cargo benefit you get from interlining?
Yes, you still need to sign interline agreements separately. There’s no tangible benefit to being part of an alliance in the game, but often alliances will have internal policies for their members that say something along the lines of ‘no interline agreements with members of competing alliances’ or similar effect, which can be beneficial.
I thought there will be implementation for that in the future. As far as I know that the test server Quimby allows (or at least shows) connections through alliance.
Quimby shows the potential connection flights of alliance partners, but nevertheless you have to sign an interlining agreement with the corresponding airline to allow passengers to use these connections.
so, as i got that right (as airlinesim newbie - on riem), alliances have no direct beneficial effect on my business, no extended business opportunities?

If you are in an alliance with more experienced players, they may share strategies with you etc,
Also some alliances supply members with cheap planes and terminals.
