Was hoping CASA/IAe CN-235 has a better chance than its successor EADS CASA C-295 which is a pure military transport aircraft (and dismissed here http://community.airlinesim.aero/topic/7135-new-aircraft-ideas/ ). While currently CN-235 mostly being used in military role, it has several airline operators, which imply the aircraft has proper certification for civilian use. The now-defunct Merpati Nusantara Airlines used to have the most aircraft in operation, with around a dozen aircrafts until circa 2008.
The fact that the manufacturer still offer its military version, I think there would be no issue for them to assemble the civilian version, should any airline (especially in AS) wish to order the type (just like we can still order a brand new B767 in AS today).
Maybe because it's an old plane? Some worlds don't have old planes.
It is not that old. If we have old 737s and 727s why do we not have theese on all worlds (that allow old aircraft which are out of production)? On Stapleton there are 727s but there are not CN-235s.
There are no 732s or 727s on Idlewild. There are some worlds with "modern" aircraft only.
And some game worlds like Stapleton and some others have some old aircraft but not all, for example Stapleton does not have 757s with winglets, and there are a considerable less amount of 757s compared to other worlds, and there are no CN-235s on Stapleton. While there are 727s.
Okay I don't realize we actually have it. Since the manufacturer still making CN-235 variants, shouldn't this type categorized as in production, though with its inferior performance I doubt any AS airline will order it unless for fulfilling own imagination. But hey, we still have Antonov AN-124 in production in AS.
