MAJOR EXPANSION AT AERO BRITAIN

Today, London/Heathrow's largest airline AERO BRITAIN has announced it will embark on major expansion plans from it's main hub. This is due to the finalising of a deal to acquire FIFTEEN more IL8Ds as well as 8 DC8s. 3 of the DC8's were intended for the leisure fleet but those plans have been scrapped in favour of improving the LHR hub.

This will involve frequency increases as well as brand new routes worldwide. Boston, Washington, Dubai & Delhi will all receive frequency increases whilst there will be new routes to the USA, India and our first routes to Canada and Pakistan. Our European routes will gain a major boost in frequencies as well as brand new routes also.

NEW CORPORATE LOGO INTRODUCED

To differentiate the airline from it's competitors, Doha based Aero Qatar has revealed it's new corporate logo.

Aero_Qatar_v3.png

We have utilised white and grey to provide a brighter look to our identity. Most competitors are predominantly maroon so we wanted to stand out amongst the rest.

NEW AIRCRAFT TYPE INTRODUCED

To coincide with the new logo, Aero Qatar has also decided to introduce a new aircraft type - ILYUSHIN IL62M. This aircraft has massive range with similar capacity to the DC8. This was decided to the backlog in DC8 production so something was needed as a stop gap.

These will only be configured in a 2-Class configuration of 25 QatarPremium and 144 QatarTraveller seats. This gives us greater flexibility to meet the demand of routes and of frequencies where the premium and economy demand may differ.

The first aircraft has been delivered and is already showing it's flexibility where we have replaced the DC8 on 1 of our 4 daily London/Heathrow flight. The flight was at a less convenient time for connections than others so the amount of premium demand wasn't there but economy was.

The DC8 freed up from the LHR service has been used to start s SECOND flight to Mumbai as well as our first flight to Pakistan with a daily flight to KARACHI.

The first 747 has been delivered and is being used to bolster our services to Los Angeles & Johannesburg. Replacing 3 DC8 flights now means that 6 of the 13 weekly services to LAX are now operated by B747. Johannesburg has increased to 12 weekly with an addition of a Sunday flight, the first on the B747.

In other news we have started new international services to Toronto, Mexico City, Tunis, Algiers, Casablanca, Cairo, Orlando and Barbados. The former 6 are all new destinations on our network including our first forays into Canada, Mexico and North Africa. Orlando and Barbados have been transferred from our Stansted operation....

LEISURE SERVICE PULLED

In a remarkable turn of events Aero Britain  has decided to revamp the so called "Leisure" operation based in London/Stansted. Instead the airport will be used as a reliever for LHR, operating select European, domestic and international routes.

The CEO said "We have done this to enable our operation to separate into a completely separate brand. This means the world renowned quality and service is upheld at Aero Britain".

Long Haul services to Orlando and Barbados have switched to LHR whilst the majority of routes ex STN have been kept. Routes to Palma, Greece and the canaries have been pulled but will soon be replaced by a new raft of services to European capitals. In the future long haul will deployed to key markets including New York, Dubai and Pakistan/India.
