Betting Community for World Cup 2014

We organized again a free betting community, this time for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil. Besides having fun, you can win some credits (thanks to the AS team!).

 

All AS players are invited to join the community. To become a member or to get further information, just follow this link. Please use your account name of AirlineSim, so that we can ban unauthorized players. It's also necessary for the credits you're able to earn!

 

 

The prizes are...

250 credits for the first

125 credits for the second

60 credits for the third

 

The rules are quite simple:

Visibility:

Other players’ bets are only visible after the deadline for placing bets has run out.

Betting mode:

Betting on the exact result.

The result “after penalties” will be applied.

Several players who are level on points in total break the tie by counting the number of wins on matchdays.

Points rules:

Tendency: 1 point

Goal difference: 2 points

Result: 3 points

If your bet is a draw, you get 1 point for tendency or 3 points for exact result.

Bonus Questions:

Fixed points rule for questions wrt the group winners (8x), semifinalists (4x)

For each correct answer 5 points

 

Fixed points rule for questions wrt the runner up, team of highest goal scorer

For each correct answer 10 points

 

Fixed points rule for question wrt the world champion

For the correct answer 20 points

Bonus questions have to be answered before first match has started.

I'm going to keep as far a distance as possible from this whole football nonsense, but just one little thing: If you are actually going to form a "tipping community" that's very noble of you. I suggest to give the collected tips to the AirlineSim supporters who work for free here.

Unfortunately I assume that you actually want to start a "betting community" ;)

I was thinking about the words tipping <-> betting as well, but kicktipp itself calls it tipping community  :wacko:

As a native American English speaker, I can tell you that "tipping" is almost always used in reference to the extra money given to certain workers, such as waiters/waitresses, bartenders, delivery persons, and valets, just to name a few. The other main definition for tipping in general use would be something falling over, usually because it's too top-heavy. I haven't ever heard of "tipping" being used as a substitute for "gambling" or "betting" or anything like it. It might be for another dialect of English, such as from the UK's various areas. But it's not American English. :)

Wow, thanks for your explanation. I trusted in the official translation of kicktipp, but obviously it's wrong. I will change the title to avoid misunderstandings.

It's funny that they call it tipping community while using betting rules  :blink:

Thanks and congratulations to you, too. ;) I didn't really think that I would get back to place 1 since you was far off already. But I think the "general bets" like who is getting champion etc. were fortune for me. :D
