Since I couldn't find anything about it on the forum I wonder if the Boeing 777's fuel consumption is already fixed by the AS staff? I'm planning to operate it but if it still has unrealistic fuel consumptions I'm going to wait... :p
Maybe you can check it in the Performance Check Tool of the 777?
Just a small check for a flight between Tampa and Tokio Haneda:
Fuel consumption
777-200: 118,112 liter
777-200ER: 127,091 liter
777-200LR: 150,538 liter
777-300: 143,270 liter
777-300ER: 157,253 liter
787-8: 96,719 liter
777 carries more people than 787 so it is reasonable to have higher fuel consmpution
Okay. This is how I count it:
Use the fuel consumption, eg 1: 127,091L for 250 passengers = 508L per passenger for the trip (depends on your configuration)
eg 2: 96719L for 220 passengers = 440L per passenger (depends on your configuration)
Definitely, B787 will be more economical as it is currently the latest version of composite aircraft made by Boeing. B777 is currently having more updates from AS on the latest B77X.
Same here... I am a total fan of the 772, although they seem to get lost once in a while...
It would make no sense operating the 777 in AS. Either it´s the 787 or 747. Order figures speak for themselves ;-)
I wonder that the performance of the 777-300 is even worse than that of the -200. It is mainly because the fuel consumption is much higher than you would expect it from a stretched version. Usually the profitability grows with the size within an aircraft family.
True. It is odd that 777-300ER worse than the 200ER is the oddity that I encounter

the -300ER is 40 Mio. more expensive than the -200ER....200 Mio. for the -300ER while the 747-8I is 220 Mio with 45% more PAX capacity and only less than 10% more fuel burn (on my route profile). It really kills the 777 and I somewhat doubt (without knowing it) this reflects reality. Only 10% price difference between the 747 and 777?
IMO, the price difference is too big between -200ER and -300ER and too small between the -300Er and 747-8I.
Is the aircraft price in AS is calculated on max. passenger certification?

According to Boeing, 10% between a 77W and a 748 sounds somewhat realistic. (320 vs. 357m$)
Though let’s not forget that Boeing tries hard to sell their 748 to keep the line running. Hence their margins should be a lot higher for the 777.
The prices quoted are official, the real prices paid by customers often are somewhat less, probably up to 40%.
hmm....how come Airlines dont like the -8I version? Will they opt for the A380 instead?

Good question. I wonder that as well. It's not like they are selling or performing badly using the number we have in AS :)

Because they prefer the "King" of the sky rather than the "Queen". The "Queen" is no longer attractive as the "King" is more powerful in performance & fuel consumption. :)
Emirates shows this in their fleets, which they only have A380, no B747, so does SQ/KE/AF. But, Emirates is a big fan of B777 which it is currently cooperating with Boeing for the latest B777X. In between, they still prefer B777 rather than B747 because it is more economical to operate.
KE
IIRC, Korean Air are a customer for the A380 and the 748.
Most airlines prefer the 777 which is a house-internal competitor to the 748 which is basically a 45 years old design marketed between two widely accepted size classes (330/777 on one, 380 on the other end).hmm....how come Airlines dont like the -8I version? Will they opt for the A380 instead?
The 77W caters most routes and airlines either go all 777 or add the 380 for a truly bigger class. I predict the 747 dead as soon as the 77X materializes.
The few 748 orders might have been signed as truly good deals for the airline.
The reason why some airlines opt for both types (380 and 748) could simply be a try to keep competition on the market which in turn keeps Boeing and Airbus from raising their prices.

Typo error. It's EK.
I have been using the 77W for a week now and it is profitable but it still generates way less profit than the 788 (as expected). The 777-300ER is even worst isn't it?

Boeing 777-300ER is B77W.
