Boeing Problems

Hello,

I would not like to scare you from flying whit Boeing aircraft but after watching some Al Jazeera documentaries I came to ask my self a question: Why would Boeing which was the brand of quality and confort and where very sucsefull merge whit Mcdonnell Douglas and use their unsuccessful strategy but under the "Boeing" brand?

Look at all planes before the merger they where high quality, luxury, confort and where the planes to dream to fly in. Why would such a sucesfull company use the bad Mcdonnell Douglas strategy (do everything as cheap as possible and cut safety), I am sorry for all Mcdonnell Douglas fans but I am never seen any other western manufacturer whit so high hull loss numbres. Mcdonnell Douglas failed whit their strategy and where almost in bankruptcy.

As well as there certainly may some question marks behind the 787 project you should also take this documentary with a heavy pinch of salt. And you should not compare the 787 project with the McDonnell-Douglas portfolio. You should not forget that it is a radical new approach of design and technology with the relevant learning curve.

As of today the 787 is doing quite well. There is a difference between airlines which did the EIS with care and a lot of preparations ahead (like Japan Air, British Airways, Air Canada, Jetstar and at the moment American Airlines which are doing heavy training flights only) and airlines which put it into full EIS immediately after delivery (like Norwegian, Air India). The latter have the most technical issues.

Personally I would feel save of flying 787. However I’m more worried about the cramped Economy sections (9-abreast) in the back so I would aviod them anyway at the moment.

The 787 "documentry" has been debunked as BS.
