cabin configurations - how can I find which A/C is using a CC

And once that is done what Peter-MTA suggested then you wait for 3 days and then you can delete the old Config so you hav no truble anymore ;)

I found I could delete an old one straight away, no waiting for 3 days, once nobody is using it. Something else I discovered is that you can rename CCs even when they're in use. Just go in the editor, overwrite the name in the box at the top left and hit "Save Configuration". Only works for new style editable CCs though. Also there seems to be no way to clone or duplicate CCs. Every single one has to be hand crafted.

Same goes for meal plans ... you cannot duplicate them, you have to recreate them. It was already suggested (by me) and maybe some others, as a feature request. It shouldn't be that difficult to create "duplicate" button which would create same config / meal plan with name_2 designation (same as Windows does). It would really save some time.

Some things you just have to do yourself.

Nice thing with 1400+ aircrafts!

I'm really missing a tool which helps me to identify the old configurations. I will definitely not tick every one aircraft just to see if I have to change the configuration.

Also in the announcement it did not say what happens if one doesn't change the configuration.

This will be a single decission then. If there is only a single aircraft out of thousands left, we will of course not delete the airline. But if there is a significant number of old configuration there may be a more serious punishment.

You can do it by yourself by using different fleets - just a matter of organisation, but we will consider any kind of overview too. But I can't promise at the moment.

SK, this is not exactly my concept of customer service.

Why is that?

break the rules and expect punishment. sounds like the kind of service everyone playing fair should expect from game directors.

unless you are referring to the "case by case decision making". but I'm sure, that the same "amount of rule breaking" will result in similar punishments. It's probably just not that easy to quantify it at this point.

What will happen to players that have not received the message (e.g. has not logged on in the period between yesterday --message date, and the deadline)?

Will they be deleted?

We will see this in April ... ;)

Why is that?

Why? Because AS is providing a service that I am PAYING for and now they expect me to invest hours of my spare time to fix problems that they created in the first place without any sensible means of doing so, along with veiled threats of what will happen if I don't comply with their demands by their arbitrary deadline. In other words, AS is getting almost as bad as an Internet Provider!

I do this with fleets, splitting them up into: Aircraft Type -> Central Location -> Seat Configuration. Makes it really simple to find specific aircraft.

That would give me almost as many fleets as I have aircraft.

No, we are improving the product for you and to keep it for you as fair as for anyone else, we have to insist on changing the oldest cabin configuration within not less then 4 weeks time. And there is no threat of what will happen so far announced, so don't blame us for anything we haven't said.

I have tried to update the seat configuration, but seems it is a bit hard to update all air plane in a single click, always complain about "concurrent collision".

I have more than 1000 air plane, would AS suggest me to do it one by one? And even though, I still have chance met "concurrent collision" problem. I am not sure if I need to spend more time there before AS fix this "concurrent collision".

I will wait and see before continuing update the airplane. A bit sorry for AS but I have at least tried.

Hi,

with all due respect, but...

if you changed your cabin configurations last december, you don't have to change them again. Exception being the 737-600, because you could fit too many seats in that plane.

If you are still using the old (original) seats, you already had three months to change your cabins, and you now get a fourth month to do so. Besides, you really should have done it three months ago... the old seats hurt your airline image badly.

Sobelair,

thanks for the due respect, but the problem is not so much replacing the pre-update seats as such, nor is it updating the seats for 737-600's it's the fact that none of the 60+ seat configurations I have put in SINCE the new cabin configurator and BEFORE the patch are useable - I have to put them in all over again, reassign them all over again, then keep track of which ones to delete. I have no idea why this is necessary, and it makes absolutely no sense to me.

Hi,

yeah... it is a nuisance that you have to create new (and identical) seat configurations when you lease/buy a new plane and want to install seats.

But I guess they had to make the "after patch" configurations obsolete. That way the system knows it can refund these seats, but we cannot install them anymore. So we can only get a refund once.

And I did not mean to be sarcastic when I said "with all due respect". I should have written something like "I understand your point of view, and it is indeed a nuisance. But it's not that big a problem"  ;-)

Don't let it get at you, and enjoy the weekend,

Jan
