Cargo Business

Looking for some replies from people who play the cargo game. Currently I see that if I max out a flight, the total revenue I will generate (after loss) is about $300-$400. What is the point of cargo? Is it easier to book? Less to deal with? Trying to find out what the benefits are, since the revenue is so much les…

What kind of plane are you using? And what’s the price level you set?

exactly, which planes are you using? My (leased) 747s (both -400F & -8F) are making margins up to 50% and more. Some flights are hitting 300k revenue / 150k profit. My ATR 72-500F are less efficient, between 5-10% margin, up to 900 AS$ per flight.

Cargo business is tougher. Thus the free run with traffic rights. There’s also a lot less demand, thus the smaller number of pure cargo airlines.

I’ve previously used it only to augment my pax routes - so if see huge demand, I put a cargo aircraft on the route. Connecting routes at my hub and with IL partners pretty much ensured that my cargo planes were full. Upside, a little bit more revenue. Downsides: extra maintenance category, upper limit on possible expansion.

Yea. I wish cargo was a bit easier or lucrative. They should up demand by a bar, make cargo an actual profitable business by itself.

I dont have an issue getting the plane fully booked, but the cost vs profit is just not worth it.

ty for you reply

this game is based on real demand. no point having cargo go up by a bar.

there are players who make it big with cargo airlines.
