Cargo on passenger flights

I'm new to the game and would like to know how I can make use of the cargo capacity of my aircraft while they are operating passenger flights. Currently all my flights have passengers but no cargo, is there something I need to do to allow cargo on these flights as well?

Thanks

Lower your prices. You will not be able to get much cargo with default cargo prices.

I price my cargo at 50% which is very low but I get around 60%-70% cargo loads and have a 50% margin if not counting the flight related costs (which I have to pay regardless of the cargo load). Cargo handling is very expensive so I suggest building cargo centers. I make a decent amount of money from my cargo and have a fantastic network for dedicated cargo flights.

Thanks, I've lowered my cargo price. Hopefully I'll see loads on my flights soon!

Which type of plane are you operating and where are you flying from? Competition with other airlines offering cargo flights to the same destinations as you are travelling to could be hindering your load numbers.

Which route is not getting the cargo? Not all destinations have a cargo demand...

It's an A319 on FACT-FAOR route.

I built a cargo facility at FACT and dropped my prices to 40% of the default price (a few days ago) and I'm still not seeing any loads. As far as I can see there is demand for cargo, two airlines that I am competing with hold 78% and 20% of the market share - however, my prices are 30% less than theirs.

Well there certainly is demand between the two, maybe sign an interline agreement with a cargo hauler into your hub?

At this point you should not care too much about cargo on a passenger plane. Once you expand network, cargo holds will be filling easily. Improve your passenger loads. That is where the money is .
