Why do airports on Caribbean islands don’t show up in database when I check airports in certain countries like Spain in this example? Funchal doesn’t exist in Portugal’s list either.
They do, but they are sorted by region.
Depending on the size of a coutry/number of airports, this might be true for all airports, see USA or Russia, where there is no airport link on country level but all hidden behind the states and territories. In Cases like Spain with a limited number of airports in the mainland, those are usually listed directly on country level with extraterritorial areas and the like sorted into regions.
