Someone has been doing a great job since 2014.

Share price lowered by ~30%.

Yield lowered it by 19%.

Introduction of a new minimalist tray design that also minimised the main dish.

Profit margin reduced to below 1% through losing heavily on fuel hedging.

KA's brand changed to Cathay Dragon to confuse customers.

Planning to introduce 10-abreast Y seats on 777s to further reduce unit costs, yield, and the residuals of the CX brand.

Great performance by someone who "has the toughest job"

Someone will lose its job sooner or later

What a sad day. I truly appreciated the "premium" economy compared with most others. The wider seats are especially on longer flights a real difference.

Then I have no longer a reason to specifically chose CX for my flights...

No reason if you aren’t a OneWorld enthusiast. Unfortunately, there’s no incentive to take CX over Air Canada’s 10-abreast crime against humanity to HKG if they go through with this. However, I can see why it’s necessary, as the fares on AC’s YVR-HKG are 15-20% lower than CX’s offering.
