Chennai Airport underwater

Are any of you guys following the news about the heavy rains affecting India? I just saw a sad picture on the internet showing the airport completely flooded, with several aircrafts underwater.

Monsoon in India - the planes are not yet underwater, I have seen this scenario in Mumbai much worse some years ago.

There’s a somewhat tasteless jet skiing joke in there somewhere, with all of those 9W aircraft in the photo.

They recorded over a metre of rainfall in November, and more rain ahead.

Trust me - Chennai is a lovely place to stay during Monsoon in comparison to Mumbai...

There is around 7feet water on the runway which ws caused due to the overflowing of the river adyar

. The airport is shut currently till Sunday .
