Thanks for the heads-up, we’ll look into it.
No, the report of “rebranding” originate from photographers who took a photo of the plane with the new designation of “C909” painted on the plane. According to my understanding, there are no official announcement on the renaming yet, but media around the world just took the painting as a “proof” that COMAC have “renamed” the plane.
Also, while it is just rumor, I have saw some Chinese language reports claiming that the “C909” is not a mere renaming, but is going to feature upgrades including with a body having more composite material which make the plane lighter, and have better fuel economies and provide more range, and also minor improved air dynamic design, upgraded avionics, and maybe change in engine model. Rumor claim 15% improved fuel efficiency
ARJ21 must be quite an old design now.
Hi folks, is there any update on this? I have seen the plane commonly referred to as C909 nowaday, but not sure about the official stance.
ch-aviation lists it as C909, so I guess it actually is a rebrand and - more importantly - just that. So I guess we can and should rename it in AirlineSim as well.
yes, definitely! Comac C909 is the official type.
@Priller think we can squeeze this in for one of the next patches? Since we’re crunching quite a bit of aircraft data at the moment anyway
Done & MR Submitted.
Still coming up as ARJ21 in schedules etc. Also as C27 and not 909 eg pilots.
