Hello everyone,
So I know how to connect passengers between flights, but I still have somethings I don't know;
Can my passenger connect onto someone else's airline even without an interlining agreement?
How long will a person wait to connect onto a new flight, or is it three days?
How far will a passenger drive/use ground connections?
Will passengers get on your plane if you can't get them to their final destination?
Does the minimum transfer time start when the plane arrives,(When it uses it's landing slot) or when it is ready for departure?
Thanks for the help!
1) No PAX will not connect onto someone else's flight without an interlining agreement. Although it is entirely possible I assume that they could still book onto that flight but would be classed as direct PAX rather than connecting PAX (I don't think this applies to AS anyway)
2) The maximum time PAX will wait for a connecting flight is 8 hours (12 if you're playing on Devau I think?)
3) PAX hate ground connections so they try and avoid them as much as possible, choosing to fly as much of the way as they can.
4) I have no idea on this one really but I would assume that if you at least get them closer to their final destination then they would (again I'm not sure if this applies to AS anyway)
Hope this helps!
To clarify:
No, passengers will only connect when an interline agreement is in place. If you don’t fly to their destination, and one of your interlining partners doesn’t either, then they will choose to fly with someone else instead. I personally fly to France, then backtrack to the UK on a separate ticket to avoid the APD, but that’s too complicated for the game to calculate.
A passenger (or unit of cargo) will wait around for up to 8 hours (12 15 if playing on Devau). Understandably, they will probably fly someone else if the connection time is shorter.
Ground connections are ONLY used at the beginning or end of a journey. They will not arrive at London-Heathrow and depart at London-Gatwick. However, they will arrive in Miami, then drive to Fort Lauderdale. They won’t drive beyond the final airport’s ground network though. If they wanted to go to Orlando, they wouldn’t fly into Miami. (Orlando is not within MIA’s ground network)
As I said before, if you don’t fly to their destination, or one of your interline partners doesn’t fly to their destination(, or within the destination’s ground network), then the passenger/cargo will fly with someone else.
Minimum connection time begins when the aircraft arrives. If it began when the arriving aircraft was ready to depart, then nobody would ever have to run to get to their next gate in any airport, anywhere.
Edit: max transfer time on Devau is 15h, not 12. Good thing I only play on Croydon.
Maximum transfer time on Devau is actually 15 hours not 12.

Yes, it is. Updated my post to reflect.
technically you can transfer your PAX to an airline that you don't have an IL with because your PAX can transfer to an airline that you do have an IL, then transfer to another airline has IL with your partner but not you through your partner's IL network. However, this kind of transfer won't be AS PAX favorite since PAX need to wait for connection flights twice.
