Connections in Scheduling missing

Hello Everyone,

First of all - a great game and fantastic support over on the forums. I have explored the threads extensively and already applied some of the information you guys provide.

For the purpose of learning how to play, I tried two different starting locations, one was in Russian Federation, the other in Saudi Arabia.

I am using hub system with waved departures as also suggested on these forums.

While in Russia, everything works nicely and connecting flights "see each other" in Scheduling Connections tab, in Saudi Arabia it is not the case (some of the flights appear on the connections list, others do not at all) - even though while I am checking in Online Reservation System, they do appear there, meaning I can book and find flight from Medina to Dammam on my lines. There must be something obvious I am missing.

Let me give you an example and describe my Setup in Saudi Arabia.

I have two separate planes serving the route RUH - JED and RUH - DMM, as well as each separate plane to serve on RUH - Medina, RUH - Abha, RUH - Gizan and RUH - Tabuk. Due to starting limitations for now other two planes share some of the "3 bars" airports to and from RUH.

I will use Abha as an example here. Flight from Abha arrives in RUH on 9:15, with the respect to 1:15 transfer time in RUH, PAX from Abha, should be able to "see" other departures: to Jeddah on 11:25, to Medina at 14ish and so on. The only flights that appear on connections list at all for the Abha arrivals - are to Dammam and my international flight. Similarly Jeddah arrivals only "see" Dammam and international flight, same with Nejran and Tabuk. Dammam arrivals only see Jeddah departures and international flight.

In the above situations connections do not show up on the Scheduling Connections list at all - with all the filters enabled, not in red, not at all.

Again, when looking in Online Reservation System, I am able to find these connections bookable.

Thank you again for your time and attention.

I think it is still fine, asking only to get informed :)

Strange thing is that in Russia, Sochi, sees Ekaterinburg connection in SVO and Mineralnye Vody is able to list Kaliningrad.

Without digging deep, if your flights appear in ORS but not in Connections tab of scheduling section, deselect the Cargo checkbox.

Thank you very much rubi, that did the trick for most connections. As soon as I unticked Cargo checkbox, more valid connections appeared.

Only two cases are not showing up on the list at all, regardless of the filters: Jeddah arrivals only see Damman departures, Medina does not see Jeddah ones.

In case of Medina, I am also unable to find my connection in the ORS to Jeddah, however there are so many direct flights between the two that no one would even consider switching in the hub.

The only mystery now is why Jeddah arrivals do not see any other option apart from Damman and my international flight. Maybe also due to the fact it has many direct connections to the other destinations and PAX don't care for the switch at all. Still I though these would show up on the list.

Server and airline?

Arabia Airways on Nicosia - thanks again for looking into it:)

If you have any other suggestions, please feel free to let me know, still very much in the learning process :)

OK, easy: Your issue is that your connections are too much detour. Only connections ABC whose length is less than 2.5 direct distance AC will show up and be eligible for booking.

For example, JED - RUH - MED will not be eligible for booking.

Personally, JED would be much better hub for you, I believe, than RUH - larger airport (1 more demand bar), more slots 13 vs 9 per 5 minutes = more possible connections, more total and relative slot availability

Thank you very much. I stand corrected then!

It is very much a learning experience for me still, will definitely consider restarting in a new hub. Maybe switch some models around too to get better ORS rating and getting higher in the booking priority.

Thanks again for taking the time.
