Dash-8

Well. They both appear to have 5 bars. But because you are asking i’ll assume you are trying to point something out indirectly.

Correct - 5 green bar are only an indicator for a bandwidth of internal numbers ;)

Ok, so If I am interpreting this correctly. Then it is already true there is a numerical value loosely correlated with the "bar" rating.

If this is correct, may I suggest we be able to see these values? This is something that airlines and manufacturers have studied and it is well known which aircraft are preferred by PAX. Perhaps hovering your cursor over the bars to display the actual value similarly to the ORS system?

It is misleading when many aircraft have “5 bars” yet the true values differ. I’m not seeing much of a point in hiding this information.

Thank you.

there is a not-loose-at-all correlation between all bar ratings and actual numbers. it is 20 "points" per bar. or any other fictional number as it would only be a relative number in a formular unknown to us players.

and AS has made it a policy not to make all formulas available to the player as to keep us on our toes and the game interesting. otherweise, actual demand, ratings, etc. would all be public knowledge and this game would be played by computer bots.

A 20 point spread to me IS loose correlation, but this is just semantics. Thats up to twenty point spread. Furthermore, I am not asking for the formula. Only the value. There is a big difference.

Well - as long as the formula is: value * 1 ;)

With other words - we won't publish the values as we think that these are part of the black boxed in the background keeping it working and making AirlineSim boring by playing it in a specific way only.

Totally agree. I like the fact there's "hidden" values in the calculations. Seeing and playing the same airline over and over again would get boring.

I agree that having all exact values available would hurt the game in the same way you have described. However, In my opinion I believe the values are being masked a bit too much. But that is a topic for another day and another thread. Thank you for the clarifications.
