At present I’m replacing one of my aircraft fleets, upgrading from CRJ9’s to 737G’s. As all my aircraft are leased I have a whole heap of money tied up in Security Deposits. What I’d like to see is an option to offset a Security deposit already paid against the security deposit of a new aircraft. This way I’d only need to find the additional A$900,000 as opposed to the full A$2,300,000 to lease the aircraft and I’d be able to do it sooner.
That wouldn’t work. The money you have is a deposit for the Aircraft that is held by the company you lease the plane from. Why would they return it so you can buy another a/c before you return theirs?
Exactly! it should be the same as if you lease a car. You lease it for two years and the third year (or whenever), you can choose too either buy or continue to lease.
